As the sole manufacturer of medical spunbond and meltblown nonwovens in the UK, we have allocated all of our resources to support local manufactures of face masks, medical protective apparel and medical wipes.

Working closely with the UK Government’s Department of Health, Scottish Government, NHS Scotland and NHS England, we continue to develop and manufacture materials to assist in the supply of essential PPE.

We have developed a meltblown nonwoven that meets the requirements for surgical masks and are developing a material to meet the FFP2 standard. We are also partnering with UK mask manufacturers on innovative nonwoven combinations to achieve the FFP3 standard. Production of a disposable gown material commences this week. We have dedicated up to 100% of our capacity of this material to the NHS, despite demand from other overseas healthcare providers. Additionally, we are supplying 5 million metres, monthly, of medical wipe nonwovens to NHS suppliers. Don & Low continues to manufacture nonwoven materials for wound dressings, surgical tray wraps and ostomy bags.

Our production team are continuing to work tirelessly to secure the uninterrupted supply of materials, that are indispensable to the UK healthcare system. Also, our R&D team are continuing to develop solutions with the goal of enabling the UK to become self-sufficient in times of crisis.
